Komothai Primary School

An introduction

Komothai is situated at about 7,000 feet above sea level on a ridge. The number of pupils is continuing to increase rapidly. It is an unpopular school for teachers since for many it is a long way from their homes.

What have we done?

In 1994 the British Army came to level Komothai's playing fields and to build two classrooms, along with the foundations for three more and an administration block. HSK has finished these buildings and has built a new verandah to provide protection for the foundation slab. The walls have been pointed and the doors and windows have been repainted. HSK has built another new four classroom block, renovated the staffroom and spent some money on management systems for the library. HSK has also provided a new water tank and has made considerable efforts to landscape the site.

What's the plan?

HSK has left Komothai to its own devices for some time now while attention is focused on other, more needy schools. However, we are monitoring progress and will return in the future if needed.
